United We Write: Northern Lights (Buffalo AKG Art Museum)

Drawing from Buffalo AKG’s current exhibition, Northern Lights, this writing workshop invited writers to translate Nordic modernist landscapes into expressive verse. Guided by Buffalo’s Poet Laureate, Aitina Fareed-Cooke, participants used ekphrasis poetry to turn sight into sound and light into language.

Through close observation of “the boreal forest… the long winter nights, and… the aurora borealis”, participants crafted collective poetic work that honor both the painting and personal perspectives.
