Smartphone Photography for the Creative Soul

  • Buffalo AKG Art Museum 1285 Elmwood Avenue Buffalo, NY, 14222 United States (map)

So you don't have a fancy camera, but guess what? One of the most powerful image-capturing tools could be right in your purse or your pocket! Through a variety of hands-on activities within the museum, guests can explore how to capture, enhance, and share images and become better smartphone photographers.

A common misconception about using a phone’s camera is that the phone can’t be used for serious photography. While cameras are technically superior, the quality of any photo mostly depends on the photographer’s intent and creative vision. No camera can take a good photo without the photographer’s ideas. That’s because your phone, just like any other camera, is a tool, and it’s a tool that can be used to take outstanding photos! With the right knowledge and the right techniques, you can use your phone to take incredible photos.

Depending on the weather, this program may step outside to capture images. Please come prepared with the appropriate attire for our Buffalo weather! Please also keep in mind that we will not use flash for the sake of the exhibitions and to respect the work on display.
